The Stylish Tweed Run
The only race that I really want to join since five years
ago is The Tweed Run. I know I’m not a cyclist but joining this race could be a
an amazing experience.
Tweed Run was first time held in London in 2009. It was
organized by London Fixed Gear and Single Speed, an online cycling forum. Since
then the Tweed Run has become an annual event with major sponsors. Participant
are limited to 500 due to health and safety rules and due to high and popular
demand a ticket ballot system been in place.
Tweed Run is a group of bicycle ride through the center of
London, in which the cyclist are expected to dress in traditional British
cycling attire, a tweed suit. Any bicycle is acceptable on the Tweed Run, but
classic vintage bicycles are encouraged. Some effort to recreate the spirit of
bygone era is always appreciated.
Today, many city following this race, mostly in Europe.
But in Asia, Tokyo was the first city held this Tweed Run.
